Why should I play in a High Altitude environment?
Altitude training has a profound effect on sports performance. Training at high altitude improves oxygen delivery to the muscles. Many athletes use the benefit of the thinner air to train harder and perform better when they return to lower altitudes.
“My motivation was higher than ever, so I started my preparation earlier than normal with high altitude training in Mexico to improve my strength and endurance. At high altitude it was hard work, but throughout that time I knew I was improving my fitness.” - Jalena Jankovic, #1 in the world 2008 (statement made after her win in 2008)
“High altitude training in Colorado is incredible for the lungs. Once acclimated you can run and play tennis for hours on end. I look forward to getting out to your courts when they open this Fall.” – Michael Russell, Professional Tennis Player currently ranked #5 USA, #68 ATP (world)
“I’ve done high altitude training my entire life and whenever I go back down to sea level, I really do feel that I have an edge on everyone with my training.” – Damon Gillette, Irvine CA, Currently playing Futures and Challengers on the ATP Tour
